Crushed Chipotle pepper is made from red jalapeños that are smoked, dried, and crushed. This pepper offers a wonderfully sweet and smoky flavour with hints of tobacco and chocolate. We offer Chipotle in both crushed and whole forms for your convenience.

Originating in Mexico, particularly from the Veracruz region, Chipotle peppers get their name from the Nahuatl word "chipotle," meaning "smoked chili." While they are a cornerstone of traditional Mexican cuisine, their sweet, smoky depth has made them a favorite in fusion dishes worldwide.

To create these chilies, jalapeños are smoke-dried over several days. Traditionally, mesquite or pecan wood is used to impart the signature smoky flavour while also preserving the peppers.
