This Anjoman saffron rock candy is made out of sugar crystals which are formed by heating a sucrose and water solution to solidify onto a medium, such as a thread or rod to produce this candy. This saffron rice candy is frequently used to flavour tea and is an excellent digestive after a heavy meal. A piece of this candy is placed at the bottom of the glass, which is an important component of East Frisian tea culture. In the Middle East, this sweet is served with tea and is the most popular way of enjoying tea as a great alternative to sugar.
