Characteristics

Limoncello di Sorrento is made from lemons sourced exclusively from the six municipalities of the Sorrento peninsula and two on the island of Capri, a region with a rich history of lemon cultivation dating back to the 1600s. To protect the fruit from harsh weather and ensure staggered ripening, the lemon plants are shaped like pots and covered with seasonal scaffolding.

The "Limone di Sorrento IGP" (Ovale di Sorrento variety) is harvested from January to October, during which the lemons achieve their peak organoleptic qualities, including peels rich in fragrant essential oils. The lemons are carefully selected, peeled to remove the bitter white layer, and steeped in alcohol for approximately 30 days. The mixture is then filtered, and just the right amount of sugar is added to create a perfectly balanced liqueur
