Description

Bright red seeds with a smoky, woody taste and vivid coloration, sourced from the annatto tree. Achiote seeds are also known as ‘poor man’s saffron’ and are commonly made into a paste for pork pibil, a traditional dish of the Yucatán in south-east Mexico.

All lever tins can be recycled in domestic bins.

Serving Suggestion

Achiote Seeds can be lightly fried in oil to turn the oil orange, then removed before sautéing onions and garlic. Once those are cooked, add in the rice and water before preparing as directed on the rice packet.
